The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai has sent a congratulatory message to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on the occasion of the 20th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Afghanistan and Tajikistan, which reads in part:

“I am confident that the joint steps taken up to now on the basis of strengthening and expanding friendly relations between the two friendly and brotherly nations which share religious, language and cultural commonalities will be more firmly taken in future as well.

The Afghan people appreciate its relations with friendly country of Tajikistan and wish their development in all spheres”.
