President of the country Emomali Rahmon received the Special Envoy of the President of People’s Republic of China, Vice Chairman of Standing Committee of National People’s Congress Chen Zhili.

The Head of state Emomali Rahmon determined the visit of high-ranking representative of the People’s Republic of China on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and China as an evidence of high level of friendly relations and beneficial cooperation between the two good neighbor countries.

President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon sent to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad a congratulatory message on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which reads, in part:

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is among the first countries to recognize our young state’s independence at the outset of creation of the newest Tajikistan.

Today the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon congratulated his compatriots on the occasion of celebration of the 17^th anniversary since the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan. In the beginning of his message the Head of State noted that this critical historic date is solemnly marked in the entire territory of the country as a holiday of formation of democratic statehood and strengthening socio-political security and stability of Tajikistan.

20 years ago, our ancient and civilized Tajik nation made a holy and historic achievement – obtained its state independence and now we today celebrate this festive occasion with the great honor and pride.

Today, as we are together on the threshold of the celebration of the anniversary of National Reconciliation Day, that is a historical and determining date of national unity, establishing lasting peace and overall stability, casting the first stone of development in all areas of society’s life in the new history of our independent country, I sincerely congratulate every citizen of Tajikistan, all our countrymen living abroad and all of you, dear ladies and gentlemen, with this occasion.

Yesterday the High level plenary meeting of the General Assembly finished its work.

At the meeting the leaders of the countries not only reaffirmed their firm commitment to the implementation of the MDGs laid down in the Millennium Declaration but also made new specific decisions for their practical implementation.
