Central District Library officially was commissioned by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
Construction work of the library started in February 2014 in the amount of 10 million somoni.
This facility was built by the LLC "Monolit-2011" on the request of Directorate of the construction of government facilities of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
President Emomali Rahmon was warmly welcomed by the readers and librarians, and also presented him a new book "Donishnomai Hisor" ("Encyclopedia of Hissar") dedicated to the 3000th anniversary of Hissar.
The central library consists of 40 rooms, including 25 business rooms and 15 outbuildings, where are installed 38 computers.
The library has 343 thousand copies of books, more than 200 thousand of which are stored in the central library. The total number of subscribers is 10 thousand people.
Central Library consists of informational, bibliographic, scientific, methodical departments, and departments of the electronic register, e-library, registration, House of Writers of Hissar valley, two large reading rooms.
In the library there are 500 thousand various books, including 500 copies in electronic form.
