President of the country Emomali Rahmon received the World Bank Director for Strategy and Operations in Europe Theodore Ahlers and the newly appointed World Bank Regional Director for Central Asia Saroj Kumar Jha.
During the talks continuous support of the World Bank towards the socio-economic development of Tajikistan was noted with satisfaction.
As it was mentioned, currently 14 important projects are being implemented in Tajikistan owing to 190 million USD grant funds of the World Bank. The World Bank assists Tajikistan mainly in development of its education, health, agriculture and energy spheres.
Both parties emphasized their willingness to continue the realization of joint projects on reduction of technical loss of electricity power, ensuring access to alternative sources of power and enhancement of hydropower in Tajikistan with reference to high priority of bilateral cooperation in the sphere of energy.
