Today, the President of the country Emomali Rahmon received Great Britain’s Minister of State for the Armed Forces Nick Harvey.
The current state and prospects of Tajik-British relationships have been reviewed at the meeting.
Much attention was focused on the issues of cooperation for security and stability restoration in Afghanistan, prevention of spread of terrorism and extremism threats, as well as illegal drug trafficking from this unstable country and strengthening regional stability. Nick Harvey highlighted as well that the world community should increase its assistance to Tajikistan in order that this country always succeed in fulfillment of its important mission for eradication of such threats and challenges in its extensive border with unstable Afghanistan.
In this context, the preparation of Great Britain for development of interaction with military and law enforcement structures of Tajikistan was especially accentuated.
The issues of establishment and enhancement of trade-economic and investment cooperation between Tajikistan and Great Britain were also among the main subjects of talks.
