This morning, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon left for a working visit to a number of cities and districts of the Badakhshan mountainous autonomous Region and to get direct acquaintance with the situation of the population and the progress of orders and instructions of the President, voiced during previous trips, as well as to promote the socio-economic and cultural development of this Region.

Working visit of the Head of State began in Vanj district.

Residents and activists of the Surkhsangov town of the Vanj district met the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon with special respect, warmth and sincerity.

Here, President Emomali Rahmon opened a new road bridge crossway through the river Vanjob on the road Dushanbe-Kulyab-Khorog. Construction of a road bridge is the commonsensical continuation of creative policies, management of state and government, which is aimed at achieving one of the main goals of Tajikistan - pulling the country out of communication deadlock and improving the living standards of its people.

 For the construction of this bridge was signed an agreement between the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Chinese corporation to build roads and bridges, was allocated the amount of 4 million 306 thousand dollars to build a bridge across the river Vanjob on the road Dushanbe-Kulyab-Khorog.

Construction work began in September 2014 and ended in 2015.

According to the project, the bridge capacity is 100 tons and its length - 146 meters. The width of the bridge is 10.5 meters and the bridge roadway - 8.5 m cm.

For the construction of this bridge from the budget of the Republic of Tajikistan as a whole has been allocated 22 million 914 thousand somoni.
