Today, in the capital of Tajikistan - Dushanbe, the bust of the poet, a philosopher, a connoisseur of Indian music and the great portraitist Robindranat Tagore was officially unveiled with the participation of the Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi.
At the ceremony, the Head of State of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon called Tagore of those great men that belong to future generations than to their epoch.
"Tagore loved East, loved Persian language and had close contact with the Persian-speaking peoples of the lands that generate poets. He twice visited the mausoleums of the classics of Tajik-Persian literature Ferdowsi and Hafiz, during these travels, he even referred to himself as an Iranian. It is symbolic that this encyclopaedist at the beginning of the XXI century spiritually links the two friendly countries - Tajikistan and India", - explained Emomali Rahmon.
