The President of Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev sent a congratulatory message to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on the occasion of 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Russia, which reads in part:

“Over the past years we could elevate through our joint efforts bilateral cooperation, based on the long-standing traditions of friendship, on a qualitatively new level. Russia and Tajikistan are continuing strengthening political dialogue, trade and economic relations, realizing coordination in issues of fight against new threats and challenges.

I am sure that further expansion of interaction in international and regional affairs, including within the framework of integration unions, answers the interests of both countries and peoples, serves the cause of peace and security in Central Asia”.
