Meeting with the Vice-President of the China Development Bank Xiaoyu Zhao

Today, President Emomali Rahmon received the Vice-President of the China Development Bank Xiaoyu Zhao.

The sides discussed issues of expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation of Tajikistan with this influential financial institution in China.

It was noted that cooperation of Tajikistan with this bank began in 2009 in the framework of bilateral relations and the Interbank Association of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Over the years a lot of signed agreements on the allocation of almost 100 million US dollars of preferential loans aimed primarily at supporting the private sector, small and medium enterprises in Tajikistan.

President Emomali Rahmon thanked the Chinese side for its constant support for socio-economic development of Tajikistan and expressed confidence in further expansion of bilateral cooperation.

A constructive discussion took place with respect to draft new program of cooperation between Tajikistan and the State Development Bank of China. It was stressed that the adoption of this program significantly expands the scope of cooperation and increases the volume of funds provided for its development.
