Meeting with the Secretary of the Party Committee - Head of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China Zhang Chunxiang

Today, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the Secretary of the Party Committee - Head of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China Zhang Chunxiang.

The meeting discussed issues of cooperation of Tajikistan with this large region of China, neighboring with our republic.

Zhang Chunxiang, telling about his acquaintance with joint ventures and institutions of the two countries in the south and north of Tajikistan, expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of their effective functioning.

President Emomali Rahmon, expressing satisfaction with the level and content of the current relations between Tajikistan and China, said that "We intend to make further acceleration of our friendly and mutually beneficial relations with China and bring them to a qualitatively higher level."

To do this, there is a need to develop a new Program of cooperation between Tajikistan and Xinjiang, because this year the program expires.

It was noted with satisfaction that the contribution of Xinjiang to the volume of trade between Tajikistan and China is 78%.
