The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon sent a telegram of condolences to the President of the French Republic François Gérard Georges Hollande, which reads, in particular:
"Your Excellency,
The people and the Government of Tajikistan are deeply saddened by the terrible news about the insidious terrorist attack in Paris on the editorial board of the magazine "Charlie Hebdo", which left 12 people killed.
This inhumane act once again warns us that humanity is now faced with a common enemy that is outside the rules of human life. Collective ruthless struggle against this "plague of the century" should unite us all. Tajikistan, always having constructive cooperation with France in this field, strongly expresses willingness to be with France in eradicating this scourge.
Expressing sincere condolences to the friendly people of France, I ask Mr. President to convey our condolences to the relatives of the victims. I wish the injured a speedy recovery".
