The evening of 12 November in Dushanbe, President Emomali Rahmon received the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Kentaro Sonoura.
The meeting discussed issues of strengthening friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
President Emomali Rahmon, praising the level and content of the relations between the two countries, in particular, stressed that "Tajikistan is a proponent of expanding multilateral cooperation with Japan."
President Emomali Rahmon, expressing appreciation to Japan for its support of socio-economic development of Tajikistan, said that for more than 20 years, thanks to the help of this friendly country more than 300 social projects have been implemented in our country. Several other projects are under implementation. Furthermore, two grant agreements for water supply in Panj district and modernization of the airport of Dushanbe were signed this year.
The sides expressed confidence that in the future, along with the aid will be extended mutually beneficial trade, economic and investment cooperation.
A constructive discussion was held on the expansion of cooperation in the fields of education, health, science and technology.
