The course and outcomes of top-level Tajikistan-Bahrain talks

In Sukhayr Palace of the King of Bahrain the consideration of issues pertaining to friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries was held at the official top-level negotiations at first with the participation of enlarged delegations of both sides.

A constructive talk took place on the expansion of political, economic, trade, investment and cultural ties.

The issues related to the establishment and enhancement of wide-ranging cooperation between Tajikistan and the Kingdom of Bahrain were reviewed at the tete-a-tete meeting of heads of both states – Emomali Rahmon and sheikh Hamad ibn Isa Al-Khalifa.

Following the meetings 7 new cooperation documents have been signed between the two countries:

Memorandum of Understanding on Consultations between the Foreign Ministries;

Agreement on Air Communication;

MoU on Cooperation in Culture and Crafts;

MoU on Cooperation in Tourism;

Intergovernmental Agreement on Avoidance of Double Taxation and Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Tax on Income and Capital;

Intergovernmental Agreement on Mutual Promotion and Protection of Investments;

MoU on Economic, Trade, and Technical Cooperation;

MoU on Cooperation in Healthcare.

Moreover, Joint Communique of Tajikistan and Bahrain was announced which defined the main directions and ways to develop relations of cooperation between the two countries.

At the end heads of both countries were granted the highest state awards:

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon was conferred the highest state award  of Bahrain “Al-Qilad Al-Khalifi” (Royal Order).

The King of Bahrain Kingdom Sheikh Hamad ibn Isa Al-Khalifa was decorated with Order Ismoili Somoni 1st degree.
