Meeting with President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping

Today, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in Shanghai met with President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping.

The current issues and further development of wide-ranging cooperation between Tajikistan and China have been considered at the meeting.

Head of Tajik state Emomali Rahmon called “the fact of 3 times holding of top-level meetings between the two countries over the last 12 months as an evidence of good intentions and rapid development of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation”.

President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping named Tajikistan “as a good neighbor and friend, as well as a reliable strategic partner” and expressed satisfaction over the development of cooperation in different spheres.

It was noted with satisfaction that during the two years the volume of trade turnover between Tajikistan and China is reaching more than 2 billion USD.

A constructive talk took place on the continuation of fruitful cooperation in the area of transport, communication and energy, including on the construction of railway Vahdat-Yovon, reconstruction of autoroutes and construction of new facilities of power generation.
