President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon sent a telegram to President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, which reads, in particular:

"Dear Nursultan Abishevich,

Please accept my sincere congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of the anniversary of the national holiday of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Independence Day.

I note with satisfaction that the Tajik-Kazakh cooperation based on strong traditions of friendship and mutual respect, with centuries-old historical roots, is steadily developing. I want to emphasize the value and utility of our mutual desire to strengthen multifaceted cooperation for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples and the region as a whole. Tajikistan, for its part , will further make all the necessary efforts.

On this bright day I would like to wish you, dear Nursultan Abishevich, good health, happiness and success in your state activities, and brotherly people of Kazakhstan - peace and prosperity”.
