Participation in the meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council

Today, in September 23, the regular meeting of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has been held in the city of Sochi, the Russian Federation.

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in his speech praised the results of the expert working group CSTO, which on the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan has been studying the needs of the Border Troops of the country. They expressed confidence that "we are now entering a stage of providing practical military-technical aid to Tajikistan to strengthen the protection of the state border with Afghanistan".

Heads of other member states of the organization have also confirmed the need to take appropriate actions on this matter.

Thus, following the meeting of the Heads of State was signed a number of important documents, one of which was the decision of the Collective Security Council of the CSTO member states to provide military and technical assistance to Tajik border troops.

In a press statement, Russian President Vladimir Putin has once again highlighted the current situation and the future of Afghanistan, and stressed that the CSTO member states, especially Russia will render a real and practical assistance to Tajikistan.
