Today, President Emomali Rahmon received the Commander of the military forces of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Ashraf Pervez Kayoni.

The meeting reviewed the issues of cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan in the areas of security, defence and regional interaction in fight against terrorism, extremism and other threats of the modern world.

It was expressed satisfaction over the continuation of cooperation of military, defence and special agencies of the two countries and considerable results of their interaction.

Discussion of situation in Afghanistan and integration for the purpose of revival of security and stability in this country was also held.

A constructive talk took place on the implementation of regional infrastructural projects in the domains of transport and energy, including high-tension power transmission line CASA-1000 and linking of railways of Tajikistan and Pakistan through Afghanistan.
