Today, President Emomali Rahmon received the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Zhantoro Satybaldyev, who arrived on an official visit and with the view of participation in the International High Level Conference on Water Cooperation to Tajikistan.

Head of state Emomali Rahmon named Kyrgyzstan “a natural regional partner of Tajikistan” and highly appraised the level of relations between the two neighboring countries.

It was expressed satisfaction over the similarity and proximity of positions of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan on management and fruitful use of regional water resources and protection of environment.

Main attention was paid to the implementation of the first session of Interstate Council which was held in May current year in Bishkek. It was noted with satisfaction that currently the legal treaty basis of cooperation between the two countries makes up 87 documents and 5 another acts are under consideration.

It was considered necessary to take joint actions on the development and implementation of projects for construction of railways Russia-Kazakhstan-Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan, China-Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Iran, power transmission line CASA-1000 from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to Afghanistan and Pakistan and other regional projects.

The strengthening of friendship and enhancement of beneficial cooperation between the bordering areas of the two countries, as well as preparations for the return visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan to Tajikistan and holding of the second session of Interstate Council were also in the center of discussions.
