President Emomali Rahmon has sent a congratulatory telegram to President of India Pranab Mukherjee on the occasion of Independence Day of India, in which it is said in part:

“Availing this opportunity, I would like to express confidence that good relations between our two countries will gain a new wave of expansion in the future and will be enriched with concrete content for strengthening of traditions of friendship and brotherhood between our peoples in various spheres of mutually advantageous cooperation.

Tajikistan considers India its long-standing and reliable partner on the international arena, and is ready to establish a more expanded and deepened cooperation in all directions”.
