Today, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the Commander of U.S. Central Command Lloyd Austin III.

The issues of wide-ranging cooperation between Tajikistan and the United States of America, first of all in the spheres of defense and regional security have been considered.

It was expressed satisfaction over the level and content of interaction between the relevant structures of both countries in these spheres, including on assistance in strengthening stability and security in Afghanistan and prevention of risk of spread of terrorism and extremism.

General Lloyd Austin III highly appreciated an important role of Tajikistan in maintaining of regional security and expressed his thanks to head of state and people of Tajikistan for active facilitation for revival of tranquil life in Afghanistan.
