Today, President Emomali Rahmon received the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Sven Alkalaj.

The issues regarding the enhancement of multidimensional cooperation between Tajikistan and the UN have been discussed at the meeting.

Much attention was focused on the International High-Level Conference on Water Cooperation to be held in August current year under the auspices of the United Nations in Dushanbe.

A constructive talk has also taken place on the fruitful implementation of goals of UN Special Programme for Economies of Central Asia – SPECA. “We are in favor of further fulfillment of priorities of this programme, but we want its activities to gain more concrete forms and become more fruitful”, - state the Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.
