The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon has sent a congratulatory message to the newly elected President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Ruhani, which reads, in part:

“Your excellency,

I am honored to sincerely congratulate your complete victory in the election to the presidency of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Republic of Tajikistan during its period of development in the atmosphere of independence has defined a range of bilateral and multilateral cooperation with friendly and brotherly Iran as an important direction of its foreign policy and takes consistent efforts to develop and deepen it.

We consider the strengthening of multifaceted beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran, which relies on the single language and culture foundation, historical traditions of friendship and brotherhood of peoples of both countries, as answering the supreme interests of both sides and lay our hopes on its promising prospects”.
