Today, the President of the country Emomali Rahmon received the World Bank Regional Director on Central Asia Saroj Kumar Jha.

The issues related to support of socio-economic development and anti-crisis measures of the Government of Tajikistan, the course of expertise of project for construction of Roghun HPP and other questions of interest have been reviewed at the meeting.

The head of state Emomali Rahmon expressed thanks to the World Bank for regular support of implementation of numerous projects in the sectors of energy, agriculture, rural development, education, healthcare and social protection of population.

Regarding the feasibility study and socio-ecological assessment of project of construction of Roghun HPP it was expressed confidence that this cause should be accomplished in the nearest future under the auspices of the World Bank with high quality, transparently and independently.

  A constructive talk has also been held on the development of new cooperation strategy between Tajikistan and the World Bank for the next 4 years, implementation of regional projects, CASA-1000, railway Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Turkmenistan and other issues.
