Today, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the Vice President of the Asian Development Bank Xiaoyu Zhao.
The issues of current state and prospects of cooperation between Tajikistan and the Asian Development Bank have been considered at the meeting.
It was noted with satisfaction that over the years of bilateral cooperation the ADB has allocated around 1 billion USD in the form of preferential credits, grants and technical aid for support of socio-economic development of Tajikistan. Currently numerous projects are being implemented at the expense of 600 million USD of funds of this bank, which are mainly grants, in the areas of energy, road-building, public financing and other priority spheres of Tajikistan.
Head of state Emomali Rahmon expressed thanks to the ADB for support of economic progress of Tajikistan and expressed confidence that necessary measures will be taken for the implementation of other priority projects, including overcoming of communication deadlock of the country and ensuring national energy security.
