The President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held three beneficial meetings in Garlik town of Turkmenistan.
Head of Tajik state Emomali Rahmon firstly met with the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.
A wide range of issues related to friendly relations and multidimensional cooperation between the two countries has been considered at the meeting.
Both sides highlighted that they will further develop their mutually beneficial cooperation for the benefit of peoples of the two countries and the whole region.
The issues of bilateral and regional cooperation, as well as international agenda concerning Tajikistan and Afghanistan have been discussed at the meeting with the President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai.
Much attention was paid to the ways to address issues related to the construction of Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Turkmenistan railway, implementation of other regional projects, such as CASA-1000 power transmission line and enhancement of economic and trade ties.
An exchange of views also took place on strengthening of interaction of law enforcement structures of the two countries, including better protection of borders between both states and fight against drug trafficking and arms smuggling.
Moreover, a trilateral meeting of heads of Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Turkmenistan Emomali Rahmon, Hamid Karzai and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow was held in Garlik town, at which the issues of regional and international cooperation between the three friendly and neighborly countries, as well as the process of construction and commissioning of Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Turkmenistan railway have been reviewed.
