Meeting with Vice President of the European Investment Bank Wilhelm Molterer

Today in Brussels, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the Vice President of the European Investment Bank Wilhelm Molterer.

The issues of further expansion of bilateral cooperation have been considered at the meeting.

It was reminded with satisfaction that Tajikistan is the first partner of the EIB in Central Asia. Currently, the project for Reconstruction of energy sphere of Tajikistan is being implemented at the expense of 21 million Euro credit and grant investment of this bank.

Wilhelm Molterer stated that the European Investment Bank intends to further expand its activities in Tajikistan and cover along with energy, sectors of transport and communication infrastructure, agriculture, food security and social spheres.

A new cooperation document was signed between Tajikistan and the EIB in the framework of the meeting - Memorandum of Understanding on the Development of Cooperation.

The document was signed on behalf of Tajikistan by the Chairman of State Committee on Investments and State Property Management Davlatali Saidov and on behalf of the Bank by the Vice President of the EIB Wilhelm Molterer.
