In the afternoon business forum of Tajikistan and Austria has been held with the participation of the presidents of both countries Emomali Rahmon and Heinz Fischer. It was also attended by numerous representatives of the relevant spheres of both states.

During his speech the President of the country Emomali Rahmon immediately presented to Austrian businessmen abundant opportunities for development of economic and investment cooperation with Tajikistan, as well as informed them that currently more than 400 investment projects are being worked out and proposed to development partners and other interested parties. As it was mentioned, majority of these projects envisage attraction of investments into hydropower, extraction and processing of minerals, transport and tourism infrastructure and other fundamental areas of national economy.

The President of Austria Heinz Fischer also called Tajikistan as a country possessing enormous opportunities for economic and trade development and encouraged businessmen of his country for expansion of cooperation with Tajikistan.

At the end of business forum another 2 cooperation documents have been signed:

• Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between SUE “Tojikaeronavigatsiya” and Austrian company “FrequentisAG”;
• Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tajikistan and Austrian company “ASKINDCo” on establishment of scientific cooperation in the health sphere.
