The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has sent a congratulatory telegram to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on the occasion of the 20^th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which reads, in part:

“In this period, the friendly and fruitful ties have developed and are expanding consistently. With reference to high current level of relations between our countries, I would like to highlight that over the last years bilateral cooperation has been elevated to a new level.

It is encouraging that the bilateral focus in further enhancement of dialogue and integration is existent in all spheres on the basis of principles of equality, mutual respect and reciprocally advantageous friendship between the peoples of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan.

The bilateral trade and economic relations are developing dynamically and comprehensively facilitating the activities of Intergovernmental Commission of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan on economic cooperation.  

I am confident that the relations between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan will boost for the benefit of our peoples”.
