The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon sent a congratulatory telegram to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev on the occasion of the 20^th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which reads, in particular:

It gives me great pleasure to send to you and through you to the brotherly people of Kyrgyzstan heartiest congratulations on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our countries.

 It is encouraging that in the years after that historic event, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic have consistently developed a long tradition of friendship, good-neighborliness and mutual goodwill between their people.

We highly value the current level of partnership between our countries and will continue to expand its political dimension, security, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other areas of cooperation between the two states.

I firmly believe that this our commitment to mutual and the joint efforts of cooperation between the two countries based on the principle of mutual benefit will continue to grow steadily for the benefit of our peoples.
