The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has sent to the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon a congratulatory telegram, which reads, in part:

“Dear Emomali Sharipovich,

On behalf of the people of Kazakhstan and personally I congratulate you on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Tajikistan.

Since independence, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan have been consistently developing relations of friendship and brotherhood which have a long historical and cultural tradition.

During these two decades, our country has not had an easy state formation and consolidation of sovereignty.

I am convinced that joint efforts to further deepen bilateral cooperation will contribute to the effective modernization of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, strengthen their international position, raising the standard of living of citizens of both countries.

I wish you, dear Emomali Sharipovich, good health, happiness and every success in your important state activities, and the brotherly people of Tajikistan - peace and prosperity".
