Today, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the Vice-President of Huawei corporation of the People's Republic of China Amy Lin.
The technical and financial aspects of Safe City Project have been reviewed at the meeting attend by relevant officials from the Tajik side.
As it was noted, according to this project all crossroads, streets and avenues of Dushanbe City will be equipped with video- and photocameras so that the safety of road traffic be controlled automatically through electronic devices.
Through camera and photography equipment not only the road traffic, but also public order will be supervised. Upon effective implementation of the project, fight against criminality, including corruption will be strengthened and another important step will be made in the path to establishment of e-governance.
This project will be realized during the 7 months at the expense of $22 million the major part of which will consist of preferential credits by the People's Republic of China through the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. This project will have 5-year guarantee. Tajik specialists will be trained in the framework of this project by the Huawei corporation for work with this modern electronic equipment.
Fruitful usage of this technology on the roads of Dushanbe City will allow to reimburse the project's expenses with surplus in 6 years.
The Head of State Emomali Rahmon highlighted that the project should be implemented with high quality and with use of high-technology of the sphere. It was also stressed that in case of quality and effective realization of the project it will also be implemented in other cities and districts.
