Today, a regular session of the National Development Council has been held under the chairmanship of the President of the country Emomali Rahmon.

The members of the council, including the Prime Minister of the country, Chairman of the Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli, heads of ministries and departments of sectors for economy, finance, investment, justice, as well as leaders of other responsible ministries and agencies have attended the meeting. Moreover, a great number of foreign development partners of Tajikistan have taken part in the session.

The regular session of the National Development Council addressed the process of implementation of National Development Strategy, Poverty Reduction Strategy for 2010-2012, another document newly approved by the Government of Tajikistan – Strategy for Raising Living Standards of Population of Tajikistan for 2013-2015 and contribution of international development partners in this process.

The President of the country Emomali Rahmon opened the Council session and firstly informed all those present on the accession of Tajikistan to WTO, as well as again expressed his profound gratitude to the leadership and all structures of this Organisation and all countries of the world which supported Tajikistan in this 11-year process of preparation for this step.

In his opening remarks the President has called the summarizing of the implementation of Poverty Reduction Strategy for 2010-2012 and of the fruitful implementation of Strategy for Raising Living Standards of Population of Tajikistan for 2013-2015 as a main goal of today’s meeting. Ensuring the minimum of 7% of national economy development in 2010-2012 has been called one of the remarkable results in this period.
