Today, a solemn gathering has been held in Cultural Palace of Arbob in Khujand City to mark the 20th anniversary of the XVI Session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan with the participation of the President of the country Emomali Rahmon.

At the Cultural Palace of Arbob the President at first visited the historical museum of this edifice. During the visit and looking at the historical photos, the President recalled about each day of the XVI Session of the Supreme Council of Tajikistan.  

During his speech President Emomali Rahmon once again reminded about the difficult year of 1992, which was considered as the year of national tragedy, and expressed his thanks to all deputies of Supreme Council of that time, to 193 from 197 deputies who have come to attend this session and all those authoritative persons who have contributed to the organisation and holding of this historic session and restoration of peace and stability in Tajikistan.

At the same time, it was highlighted that the hero of peace revival and statehood of Tajiks is the entire people of Tajikistan, as the revival of peace and stability, political and social stability and economic development of nowadays in Tajikistan has been achieved due to support of the honorable people of the country.

Solemn gathering has been continued with cultural program of creative crew of television and cinema and professional artists.
