The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon has addressed a congratulatory telegram to the President of the People’s Republic of China Hu Jintao on the occasion of the anniversary of China, which reads, in particular:

“In recent decades, China has made a remarkable success in economic development and improving people’s living standard, has a significant authority in the international arena, and has always stood for ensuring the security and stability in the world.

Tajikistan, as a close neighbor of China, with which it is associated by thousands of threads of friendship, always observes with genuine delight these achievements.

We honor the glorious traditions of true neighborliness, sincere feelings of friendship, mutual respect and sympathy that bind the unbreakable bond of our people and remain committed to the preservation and enhancement of these wonderful traditions.

We are very satisfied with the good atmosphere of bilateral relations in the political, and the economic, humanitarian areas, and of course, with the dynamic development of our mutually beneficial partnership that meets the fundamental interests of the two peoples and the region as a whole. Today, we are able to demonstrate the many benefits of this cooperation.

I have warm memories, Mr. President, of our recent meeting in the margins of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and in the framework of my state visit to your beautiful country. We will continue to develop a regular and confidential political dialogue in order to intensify and improve relations between the two countries in all fields of mutual interest.
