Today the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Igor Shuvalov.
The range of issues related to further enhancement of strategic partnership and multidimensional cooperation between the two countries, as well as preparation for the upcoming visit of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to Tajikistan, have been reviewed at the meeting.
Main attention has been paid to the military-technical cooperation, including the determination of terms and conditions of stay of military base of the Russian Federation in Tajikistan after 2014 and a complex of issues of economic, trade and investment interaction.
It was noted that the draft agreement on the terms of stay of military base of Russia in Tajikistan after 2014 and a number of other acts on the development of cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, investment, industry, science and technology will be prepared in the nearest weeks and should be signed during the visit of Vladimir Putin to Tajikistan.
The Russian reiterated its interest in participation in the implementation of energy projects of Tajikistan, including in the construction of hydropower stations and regional power transmission lines, which are of great regional importance.
A constructive talk has also been held on the settlement of issues regarding the labor migration, import of oil products of Russia to Tajikistan and other issues of mutual interest.
