On November 21, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, met with the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin, as part of his official visit to the Russian Federation.

During the meeting, the current state and prospects of relations between the two countries in the promising commercial and economic spheres, industry, energy and agriculture were discussed.

It was emphasized that the Russian Federation occupies a leading position in the structure of the foreign trade flow of our country. In 2022, the volume of mutual turnover of goods amounted to 1.7 billion dollars, which increased by 24% compared to the previous year.

There are many unused resources and opportunities in the field of trade and economic cooperation and investment, so it was considered necessary to take specific measures to fully benefit from them.

During the meeting, it was mentioned that the implementation of joint projects in the mining, metallurgical, defense, petrochemical, food and light industries, textile, pharmaceutical and construction materials sectors would benefit both sides.

It was considered necessary to attract Russian capital for the establishment of industrial parks, textile, food and processing of agricultural products.

Expressing satisfaction with the level of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, the sides also expressed their interest in further expansion of practical relations in the fields of education, culture, healthcare and tourism.

During the talks, the parties also had a fruitful discussion on issues of labor migration and other topics of interest.
