New appointments

The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the newly-appointed officials and officers of the Executive Body of State Authority of Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region and the Interior Ministry.

President Rahmon announced personnel changes in the central office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and its departments in a number of cities and districts of the country.

During the meeting, he instructed the newly-appointed officials to work within the framework of existing laws and service charters, and to fight against all crimes and violations.

“Taking into account the complicated and unpredictable situation in the region and threats of transnational organized crime, the officials should work hard to ensure security and stability of the country,” said President Rahmon.

“The fight against terrorism, extremism, illicit drug trafficking, and illicit firearms trafficking, and combating terrorist financing should be given the most serious attention," he added.

The conversation also focused on maintaining public order, preventing of crimes, and giving priority to state and national interests in place of other interests.
