The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon addressed to the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Truong Tan Sang a congratulatory message on the occasion of the 20^th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Vietnam, which reads in part:

“I am glad to note that over the period after this remarkable event for our countries due to efforts of the sides traditional Tajik-Vietnamese relations of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation have gained further development for the good of both countries and peoples.

I am convinced that relying on the positive experience of the past years and on the basis of provisions of fundamental document of our interaction – Agreement about the principals of interstate relations from 1999, we can attach more dynamism to Tajik-Vietnamese cooperation in its various forms.

Availing this pleasant occasion, I sincerely wish you, Mr. President, good health, welfare and new successes, and the friendly people of Vietnam – peace, stability and prosperity”.
