Today in Baku in the framework of official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the Chairman of Majlisi Milli (Parliament) of Azerbaijan Oktay Asadov.

The issues pertaining to the ways of development of relations between the two friendly states, including the inter-parliamentary links, have been discussed at the meeting.

Emomali Rahmon called the enhancement of partner relations with Azerbaijan as one of the priority directions of foreign policy of Tajikistan and underlined that the closeness of positions of both countries on the urgent modern world issues is a favorable basis for development of relations.

In this regard, the role of supreme legislative body of both countries in strengthening and developing mutually beneficial relations between the both sides has been highly evaluated.
