A wide range of issues related to Tajik-Swedish cooperation, as well as interactions within the OSCE were the subject of the discussion.

“We pay a great deal of attention to the development of cooperation with Sweden as a reliable partner in Europe,» said President Rahmon.

The sides underscored the importance of strengthening and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with an emphasis on political, inter-parliamentary ties, economy, trade, education, security, and climate change.

The conversation also touched upon issues regarding the current state of Tajik- OSCE cooperation across three dimensions – the politico-military, the economic and environmental, and the human dimensions.

It was proposed that the OSCE should focus its programs on reducing the consequences of the pandemic and increase practical and technical assistance in this area.

Issues related to combating terrorism, extremism, their financing, arms trafficking, cybercrime, and other transnational organized crime were also discussed.

Linde lauded Tajikistan’s efforts in fulfilling its obligations within the organization, its leading role in promoting global water issues, and President Rahmon’s proposition to declare 2025 as the International Year of Glacier Protection and World Glacier Day.
