The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation with the Emir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani.
At the outset of conversation Emir of Qatar once more offered his sincere congratulations with best wishes to head of our state over his victory in the presidential election in Tajikistan.
The current state and prospects of cooperation between Tajikistan and Qatar was among the topics of discussion. “Tajikistan values cooperation between the parties, which is based on common interests,” noted President Rahmon.
The parties also stressed that there were still untapped resources in various key sectors, such as trade and investment, tourism, industry, agriculture and energy resources, which could drive the bilateral trade between Tajikistan and Qatar.
The two officials touched upon certain issues of bilateral cooperation within the framework of various international organizations.
While discussing the impacts of COVID-19 pandemic it was noted that Tajikistan is no exception in the current situation and is making every effort to prevent its consequences, including in cooperation with the international community.
President Rahmon noted his appreciation of Qatar’s cooperation in combating this infectious disease.
In closing President Rahmon invited the Emir of the State of Qatar to pay a state visit to Tajikistan that was accepted with gratitude.
