Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - The Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon held a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan H.E. Mr.Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

At the outset, the Leader of the Nation has noted that Tajik people are closely following the developments around the events in the Syr Darya region of the Republic of Uzbekistan, where the dam of Sardoba reservoir broke, with sincere empathy. The Leader of the Nation emphasized that in these difficult times, thoughts and prayers of Tajik people are with the brotherly people of Uzbekistan.

The Heads of States discussed the current epidemiological situation in the region and the world. They exchanged views on the situation in the two countries as a result of the spread of COVID 19. To this end, the Presidents of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan reaffirmed their mutual readiness to take joint actions to overcome the current crises.

They also touched upon the current agenda of Tajik-Uzbek relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian fields. Both leaders agreed to take urgent actions for further enhancement of relations in the spirit of strategic partnership and the benefit of the two peoples.

The Head of our State wished the President and people of Uzbekistan robust health and prosperity.
