In the framework of the next SCO Summit of Head of States the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a meeting with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmud Ahmadinejad.

The heads of both states had a constructive talk regarding the implementation of numerous projects in spheres of policy, economy, investment, energy, transport, science and culture.

The relevant structures of both countries were instructed to take practical measures for the soonest and high-quality refinement of Istiqlol tunnel, putting in commission of the second aggregate of Sangtuda-2 HPP, beginning of the construction of Aini power station on the Zarafshon River and finishing the technical and financial study of the Tajikistani part of project for construction of railway Iran-Afghanistan-Tajikistan-Kyrgyzstan-China.

A fruitful conversation also took place on the other beneficial bilateral projects of Tajikistan and Iran in the framework of trilateral relations with Afghanistan, SCO, Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and other regional and international organizations.
