The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon from Xiamen city left for the capital of the People’s Republic of China – Beijing to continue the state visit and attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit of Head of States.

In the second half of the day the Head of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the Chairman of Board of Directors of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Jiang Jemin.

The issues of establishment and development of cooperation on exploration work of the oil and gas resources of Tajikistan have been considered during the talk.

President Emomali Rahmon stated that “Tajikistan is interested in mutually beneficial cooperation with CNPC and is ready to create all necessary conditions”.

The Chairman of Board of Directors of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Jiang Jemin also expressed interest in establishing mutually advantageous cooperation. He stated in particular: “China National Petroleum Corporation cooperates with 61 countries of the world and Tajikistan will be the 61st”.

Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed between the Ministry of Energy and Industry of Tajikistan and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) at the end of the meeting.
