Participation in the meeting of the Security Council of the Republic of Tajikistan

The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the Security Council of the country Emomali Rahmon held a meeting of the Security Council of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The meeting was attended by permanent members of the Security Council, Chief of the Supreme Court, heads of law enforcement and intelligence agencies, the leadership and responsible persons of the relevant ministries and agencies of the country.

The President of the country, Chairman of the Security Council of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon summed up the results of the law enforcement and intelligence agencies on measures to ensure security of the state, the rule of law, public order, border protection, and prevention of and fight against crime.

The agenda included a set of matters related to ensuring peace and stability in the country. The discussion also focused on the performance of the law enforcement and intelligence agencies in 2018 and the key priorities for 2019.

The President heard the reports made by the Prosecutor General Yusuf Rahmon, Interior Minister Ramazon Rahimzoda, Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Saimumin Yatimov, Director of the  Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption Sulaymon Sultonzoda, Defense Minister Sherali Mirzo, National Guard Commander Bobojon Jamolzoda, Border Troops Commander Rajabali Rahmonali as well as Drug Control Agency Director Sherkhon Salimzoda, Chairman of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense Rustam Nazarzoda.

Threat prevention, necessary measures to prevent the violation of the law, ensuring peace, stability and security, propaganda, protection and restoration of national values protected in unity and nationwide stability were the main subjects of today’s agenda.

It was emphasized that the fight against global challenges faced by the modern world and increasing risk of terror attacks remain the main tasks of the country’s military and law enforcement structures. 

The heads of law enforcement and intelligence agencies were ordered to remove the existing shortcomings in the shortest possible time.
