Meeting with President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Ara Babloyan

Today in the Palace of the Nation, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon held talks with President of the National Assembly (Speaker of the House of Parliament) of the Republic of Armenia Ara Babloyan.

In the course of the talks, both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress made in bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Armenia, in particular inter-parliamentary ties and permanent high-level political dialogue over the past 25 years of cooperation since the establishment of diplomatic relations.

It was stressed that the implementation of agreements reached during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Republic of Armenia in July this year has laid the groundwork for further expansion of mutually beneficial interstate cooperation between the two countries.

In this regard, it was expressed confidence that the visit of the Speaker of the House of Parliament of Armenia to Tajikistan would give a new impetus to the development of inter-state and inter-parliamentary relations.

The two sides affirmed their readiness on strengthening interstate relations in the spheres of economy and trade, science and culture, inter-parliamentary and public relations both in bilateral formats and within the framework of the UN, OSCE, CIS, CSTO.

The parties confirmed that the legal base of our inter-state relations now counts around 30 documents that cover practically different fields of cooperation.

It was expressed that Tajikistan and Armenia share similar stances on many issues of today’s world.

They also discussed issues related to bilateral cooperation in addressing modern challenges and threats, strengthening border control and peaceful solution of political conflicts in the countries of the world.
