The Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the initiative of the Turkish side.
In the course of a detailed discussion, heads of the two states expressed their best wishes on the occasion of the jubilee date in the modern history of Tajik-Turkish relations - 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two friendly countries.
During the conversation that took place in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding, the parties had an in-depth exchange of opinions on the bilateral agenda, current international and regional issues.
The head of our state pointed out that constant dialogue at the highest level is an important factor for a progressive expansion and strengthening of cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkey both in a bilateral format and within regional and international organizations.
In this context the two sides reached an agreement on specification of dates of the visit of the President of the Republic of Turkey to Tajikistan.
While addressing international issues, the heads of state expressed serious concern over the situation of Muslim community in Myanmar. They decisively condemned the growth of Islamophobia in that country, as well as the facts of the armed attack by militants of extremist groups in Rakhine.
In this regard, the heads of state shared their views on a fair solution of all ethnic and religious conflicts only on the basis of peaceful dialogue and called on international community to take effective measures to root out such dangerous phenomena.
The interlocutors also touched upon a number of other important issues of mutual interest.
