Today, the President of the country Emomali Rahmon received a group of deputies from European Parliament on work with Central Asia headed by the Chairman of the group Paolo Bartolozzi.
The issues regarding the cooperation of Tajikistan with the Parliament and other structures of the European Union have been considered at the meeting.
The effective activities of the Committee for inter-parliamentary cooperation between Tajikistan and EU, established last year, and holding its second session in Dushanbe were evaluated as an evidence of expansion of mutually beneficial bilateral ties.
It was expressed confidence that the Committee for inter-parliamentary cooperation between Tajikistan and European Union is another new mechanism for cooperation and along with Council of Cooperation between Tajikistan and EU and other structures it will make a remarkable contribution in strengthening and expansion of mutually advantageous bilateral relations.
A constructive talk has been held on political, security, economic, scientific and cultural cooperation.
Development of cooperation on enhancement of civil society, democracy and protection of human rights and freedoms was among the important subjects of talk.
