President of Tajikistan received the new ambassador of Great Britain

Today, the President of the country Emomali Rahmon received letters of credence from a new ambassador of Great Britain in Tajikistan Robin Jeremy Ord-Smith.

The issues of cooperation between Tajikistan and Great Britain have been reviewed at the meeting.

“It is gratifying that today Great Britain is among our friends and we consider it as an important partner in European region”, - said during the talk the Head of State of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and added, that “we are interested in expansion of stable and multidimensional mutually beneficial cooperation with Great Britain”.

With satisfaction over the regional cooperation of the two countries in areas of defense and security, including in the framework of joint fight against terrorism and International Security Assistance Forces in Afghanistan, it was considered necessary to develop mutually advantageous economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Great Britain.

Robin Jeremy Ord-Smith stated that “the attraction of investments of Great Britain in Tajikistan is one of the main goals of his mission of ambassador” and he will take efforts for this cause.

For this purpose, strengthening legal-treaty basis of cooperation between both countries, including signing of a number of new documents have been considered necessary.

Both sides highlighted their readiness in development of multidimensional cooperation.
