Today, in Budapest, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon held a working meeting with Tajikistan’s ambassadors to European countries.

The main directions of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and European countries in various areas of shared interest have been discussed.   

Head of state Emomali Rahmon drew a particular attention of ambassadors to "the National Development Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2030" and put before them orders to attract European partners to its implementation.

President gave necessary instructions to the ambassadors for the further development of cooperation in the spheres of economy, trade, science, culture, and closer ties with compatriots living abroad, as well as attracting investments and advanced technologies from Europe.

Leader of the Nation highlighted that Tajikistan’s diplomatic representation should play an important role in the implementation of Tajikistan's initiatives, particularly in promoting its new initiative on the International Decade for Action under the motto “Water for Sustainable Development", 2018-2028”, implementation of the goals and objectives of the new decade at all levels to establish effective cooperation with the United Nations Member States and its agencies, international and financial institutions.

The meeting also stressed the need to strengthen cooperation in the fight against new threats and challenges, especially terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking.
